Joyful Joy’s Laugh Fest stand-up comedy fundraiser will be presented on stage at the Gramercy Theater, Friday April 26^th, 2013, 8pm-10pm.  The evening will feature a power packed line-up of comedians:  Capone, just off a 2-year tour with Shaquille O'Neal’s All-Star Comedy Tour, will host and headline the show.  Additional talent will include, “African King of Comedy” Michael Blackson, Smokey Suarez, Idriss, Kenny Woo and more, with music provided by, DJ Mike Neeze.

With a commitment to transforming health care and reducing poverty in Africa, JJF utilizes the arts as a bridge between entertainment, fundraising, and intervention.  Laugh Fest symbolizes comedy with a heart, and encourages its audience to spend their time, money and energy in a socially conscious way. Guests and contributors are invited to be supremely entertained, while knowing that their support will have a long-term impact on saving lives.

100% of all proceeds from the Laugh Fest will fund JJF’s Adopt-a-Clinic Program.  The adopted health care facility will be supported with supplies, medical staff training and additional provisions to increase the facility's capacity to sustainably provide a more reliable package of health care services and operate more efficiently. JJF’s initial effort will be launched in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, an area with one of the highest rates of malaria infection in the world.

Thank you to everyone who supported the Launch of Joyful Joy. New York City professionals, elected officials, celebrities, and notable figures in the corporate and nonprofit sectors came out in large numbers to help make our celebration an overwhelming success.

Guests were treated to a program of performances that included Greg Banks, Brianna Colette, Traditional Ivory Coast drummers and dancers Kotchegna and Mexica Dance Group Kalpulli Huehuetlahtoli who offered a blessing in the form of dance.
